Third graders learned about the Fauve Movement and the artist Henri Matisse. They learned that "fauve" is French for "wild beast" and that Matisse was nicknamed a "fauve" for his wild and colors and manner of painting. Students made a paper mask inspired by the wild colors used by Matisse in his paintings. |
