SHADOWBRIAR ELEMENTARY DRESS CODE

The following dress code is to be followed by all students.  If a student violates the dress code the parent will be called and asked to bring the appropriate clothing to school.  If that is not possible, then the student will have lunch detention for the first offense and in-school suspension for any violation thereafter.  The administration has the authority to determine if a student is groomed appropriately for the classroom environment.

SHIRTS (tucked in)

Polo shirt with collar in any solid color.  May be short or long sleeved.

Shadowbriar Spirit Shirts (polo or T-shirt) may be worn any day.

PANTS/SHORTS/SKIRTS/SKORTS/JUMPERS

BOYS—Navy/Khaki uniform pants or knee-length shorts made of cotton blend twill material

GIRLS—Navy/Khaki uniform pants, capris, or knee-length shorts, knee-length skirts, skorts, or jumpers

PANTS, SHORTS, OR SKIRTS MUST FIT AND BE WORN AT THE WAIST.

NO BAGGY, FLARED OR FRAYED PANTS

CARGO PANTS MAY BE WORN, BUT POCKETS MUST BE FLAT.

NO HIP-HUGGERS, NO LEGGINGS, NO TIGHTS

NO DESIGNS OR EMBLEMS LARGER THAN 1” ON ANY CLOTHING

BELTS

Are not required but recommended to insure that pants fit at the waist.  Belts must be khaki, black, or brown only and have a plain buckle.

SHOES

Students are to wear appropriate shoes for physical activity (rubber soled full shoes/tennis type shoes) No sandals, flip-flops, slides, Crocs, or Wheelies will be allowed. No boots.

SWEATERS, SWEATSHIRTS AND JACKETS

HOODIES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.  Sweaters, sweatshirts (without hoods) may be any solid color without designs or emblems.  Jackets may not be worn in the classroom.

JEWELRY

Boys may not wear earrings.

Girls may wear studded earrings—no hoops or dangling earrings.

Boys and girls may wear one simple necklace worn INSIDE the shirt.

No bracelets allowed.

FRIDAY WEAR

As an exception to the above dress code, on Fridays students may wear: Plain blue jeans or knee-length blue jean shorts College spirit shirt
